I have picked up a few new tricks and tips with Firefox 3.0. I’m not sure if these were available prior to 3.0 (I know at least one of them was), but they’re worth mentioning regardless. Anything posted here will work in 3.0, but it’s up to you to try them in 2.x versions.

Queen: The Greatest Live Rock Performance?
I’ve been listening to a lot of Queen lately. I don’t know why, but it’s probably another one of those phases I’m going through. I never really got into Queen that much before, but I’ve gotten ahold of the Mobile Fidelity CD pressing of The Game, and it sounds fantastic. Poking around the web a bit, I found out that one of their live performances has long been touted as one of the greatest live rock performances of all time. And I remember it!
Firefox 3.0 First Impressions
I’ve been using the new Firefox 3.0 on a couple of our computers here. As with any upgrade, there are new “features” (and I use the term loosely) that work nicely, whereas others are either broken or do not work as they did in earlier versions. What has changed, and what have I done to fix them?
Buying tires online
I know it sounds like an impossible concept, but yes, it is possible to buy tires online, and save money. I’ve actually been doing it for many years, even in pre-internet days via mail order. Just placed another order today, in fact, exactly two years from the last time I ordered. It’s easy, it has some beneficial advantages, and yes, it saves some cash in the process.
Planning a music server
I’m stuck here without my CDs–most of them are in storage right now. I’ve been increasingly interested in setting up some kind of central music server, and using a remote device via the network (hopefully wirelessly) to play the music on systems throughout the house. It’s just in the early planning stages right now, but I’ll keep everyone informed on the progress. My early sketches are below.
