About ten years ago, my father took all of us on a cruise to Cozumel.  It was part of a group of individuals he’d known from a restaurant/lounge that he frequented, and to him it sounded like fun.  And for us, it was a free trip.  Having said that, though, it was probably the least enjoyable trip I was ever on.  Why is that?

Google Maps GPS (an idea for Google)

As some readers may recall, I’m a big fan of many of Google’s free applications, including Google Maps (and its “home” edition, Google Earth).  Awhile ago, I was using an older Magellan GPS unit in the car, which helped with sales calls.  Its shortcomings over Google Maps became readily apparent the longer I used it.  The Amazon Kindle, XM Radio, and Google’s own Android-based “Google phones” gave me an idea of “mashing” a few existing technologies to make some thing new.  I know this makes no sense yet…but read on for more on “Building The Perfect GPS”!

Rudy’s Corner @ Cedar Point, 2009

I just received an e-mail from Cedar Point with deals for the coming few weeks.  Looks like Rudy will have to make a trip over to Cedar Point early this year!  Last year’s trip was a big success–we had a great time at the park.  Fortunately, we’re close enough that a trip to Cedar Point is only a day trip, and no overnight lodging is necessary unless you’d like to make a long weekend trip out of it and visit Cleveland.  For those who don’t know, Cedar Point is an amusement park that is home to some of the world’s fastest and most exciting roller coasters. Here’s a brief rundown on last year’s trip.
