As many readers may recall, I was hemming and hawing as to which portable music player I would go with. Going against what I thought I wanted, I ended up with something that fits my needs and, so far, has proven to be even better than I’ve imagined in the past. As you can tell from the title, I chose a Zune!

U2: The Joshua Tree, Restored
Some might feel it’s wrong to change the presentation of a “classic” album, but in a few cases, you could make an argument that the album is improved if presented in a new way. U2’s “The Joshua Tree” is one of those albums. Read on for how the “restored” version sounds.
Discovering Burt Bacharach’s “Futures”
When it was first released, I was not that fond of Burt Bacharach’s “Futures” album. Part of the reason was that I’d gotten it on cassette, and ti never sounded all that good. Coupled with the rather “dark” mood of the album, it never really sank in. Fast forward 30 or more years, and I have a new perspective on the album. It’s not a total about-face, but it certainly isn’t the runt of the A&M litter by any means.
