I finally got around to watching this DVD on my surround system, and it’s a keeper! Rumble In Brixton is a video presentation of one concert on a reunion tour of the Stray Cats with the original lineup of Slim Jim Phantom, Lee Rocker and Brian Setzer. The DVD includes a lot of concert footage, plus some bonus extras that are entertaining.

There has been a certain amount of controversy regarding the recent Sergio Mendes recording called Timeless. Rather than give us a Brazilian pop album, Sergio has teamed up with rap artist will.i.am (of the Black Eyed Peas) and gave us a hybrid Brazilian/hip-hop/rap album unlike any other. What’s the big deal about Sergio Mendes recording with a modern-day artist anyway?

XM2GO: A Portable XM Radio Receiver
My friend Jon (in Connecticut) sent me the Delphi XM2GO XM radio receiver a month ago, and while I haven’t activated it yet, I’ve been able to play with it a bit using the preview channels and charging it in the car for awhile. Would this be any better than a standard XM receiver, such as my Roady2?

“Chicago II” Never Sounded So Good!
Three words: buy the DVD-A! If you have the capability to play DVD-Audio, run out and get this disc even if you remotely like this album. “Chicago II” is actually the common name for the double-album entitled “Chicago”; Chicago’s first album was called “Chicago Transit Authority”, but was changed due to an issue with Chicago’s government. “Chicago II” contains such familiar songs as “Make Me Smile” and “Colour My World”. I never cared for the album much until this album was released on DVD-A, and I had read that the mastering was improved. How much improved?
