12 Years and Counting!

It’s hard to believe that Rudy’s Corner has been around for almost 12 years now! The whole concept started on Thanksgiving weekend in 1995, when we created a home on the web for jazz and wolrd music reviews that were originally posted on the Compuserve online service. At that time the site was called Rudy’s Latin Corner, but that soon changed as the scope of music covered had changed. This site was dormant for awhile (as most of the various sections spun off into their own separate sites), but it was resuscitated as a home for miscellaneous reviews and opinions of the proprietor. Thank goodness we’re still around, and a lot of ‘net citizens still remember us!

Gmail and Spam Filtering

I have been using Gmail’s web interface for quite awhile now, almost two years. Thing is, I had pretty much abandoned my Eudora installation. Every so often I’d log into it to dump my mailbox contents, but wasn’t actively using it to do my e-mail chores anymore. Gmail’s interface is nicely laid out, and very responsive–with the AJAX technology, the screen refreshes with new mail within a minute. The best part about Gmail is their spam filtering.
